Thanks so much for your prayers and support! I received an update from my mom via text message a few minutes ago. She said, “I’m feeling pretty good. I have been up walking around. I had a nice but short visit with Jenna. Dad is coming soon. I am going to wash my hair. It will feel good. Love, Mom”
I am so proud of her. She is staying so strong and seems to being doing well. I will let you know if I hear anything else later today!

Hello, I was searching for info about laryngectomy recovery and I saw your mother’s story. MY father is scheduled to have a total laryngectomy on 3/1/09. He has been through hell and back already, I am very worried about what he is yet to endure.
How is your mother doing one year later? Has she learned to speak through the tracheal implant? I hope she is doing well. Anything you can tell me about her recovery process and healing would be greatly appreciated.
